Reasonable adjustments in education
Schools, colleges and universities must not discriminate and must make reasonable adjustments for disabled students, including many deaf learners.

What to do: Contact SENCO / disability services with your communication needs in writing.
Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
In higher education, DSA can fund non-medical helpers, equipment and software for eligible disabled students, including deaf students.

What to do: Apply for DSA early via Student Finance; book the study needs assessment promptly.
Exam access arrangements
Extra time, live speaker, oral language modifier or other arrangements may be available with evidence — rules depend on the exam body.

Notetakers & communication support workers
Education providers often arrange CSWs, notetakers or interpreters for lectures and seminars.
